4 KIDS CHARITY HOMES TO RECEIVE THERMA-TRU DOORS
Maumee, OHIO (June, 02 2011) – The children residing in two different 4 Kids Charity of South Florida facilities in Fort Lauderdale will soon have a more welcoming --- and safer --- way to enter their foster homes. As part of a volunteer renovation effort scheduled for June 11th the homes will receive a variety of new doors donated by Therma-Tru.
Coordinated by Town and Country, contractors will donate their time and talents to install new roofs, windows and entry doors on two homes located on 63rd Street and 66th Street operated by 4 Kids Charity of South Florida. The four fiberglass Smooth-Star® door systems being donated by Therma-Tru are impact-rated and will help protect the homes from severe weather and burglary attempts. Currently the two foster homes, which are greatly in need of refurbishing, have non-impact steel doors with pine jambs that have rotted over time.
“The top-quality fiberglass entry doors from Therma-Tru that we’re installing on these homes have the look of fine-painted wood married with the strength of steel to withstand severe weather conditions,” says Bill Owens, building products manager for Town and Country, the ABC Company coordinating the project. “What’s great about these fiberglass doors is that they’re built to last. They’re made of rugged compression-molded fiberglass with deep detailed panels. While they’re stylish, these doors are so durable that they resist the dents and dings from active children and day-to-day traffic. Best of all, despite the high humidity conditions we experience in the Fort Lauderdale area, these doors will never rust or corrode.”
4 Kids of South Florida works with the foster care system in Broward, Palm Beach and Dade counties to help children of all ages with support, encouragement and direction. The foster care home at 3120 NW 66th Street provides long-term residential support to young people who have ‘aged out’ of foster care. The home at 3330 NW 63rd Street offers a foster care living environment for children under the age of three.
“This renovation event on June 11th will use products and services contributed by our valued customers and partner companies to benefit needy children in the Fort Lauderdale area,” says Owens. “The top-quality products donated for this project will help make these safer, more enjoyable homes for the children and families that reside there.”
